Brandon had a brief period yesterday where he came out of his “lost” look and gave me a smile. It’s the best thing I’ve seen in days!
All of the clapping and cheering for our family was amazing…even the hubster was amazed at the outpouring of support from strangers. I informed him they weren’t strangers…they were Monkees!

Get better, Brandon!
In May of 2003 my then three year old son was diagnosed with an brain tumor the size of a lemon. 2 surgeries, a years worth of chemotherapy and 9 years later he is a beautiful, strong 13 year old. He did face medical anxiety for a while, and still gets yearly MRIs to make sure the residual bit of tumor isn’t growing, but he is healthy, happy and ALIVE! I was blessed by the prayers of so many, and hope you will be too. You and your family will be in my prayers.
Hadn’t read Momastery for a couple of days and just checked in to find this. What a beautiful boy. Please know my family will be praying, clapping, dancing, and singing for a fast recovery. No parent should have to deal with any of this. All of our love your way!!!

I don’t have a facebook account, but can see Glennon’s posts (but obviously can’t comment), so I wanted to reach out to you here. I am so in awe of your strength and courage – you inspire me. I have been thinking of you and your family since Glennon’s first post and I’ll keep on sending positive thoughts and energy your way. Lots of Monkees are holding your family close. Loves and hugs all around! Don’t get too used to those treats they are offering ALL THE TIME…my oldest has been there so many times, she always has popsicle withdrawls when she comes home! As a mom of a cancer warrior kiddo, sadly I know how it feels to be in your shoes. Sending up prayers for your family and sweet Brandon. It was our faith and the sustaining prayers of our friends that literally carried us through those early days, surgery, PICU, and weeks of radiation and chemo. We could literally feel ourselves being carried by the interceding prayers of so many.
I don’t know how to get in touch with you, but there is an AMAZING conference coming up in November for pediatric brain tumor families. I have attended the last 2 (kidney cancer- my daughter’s dx and survivorship issues). They bring together the top docs in the country for an incredible, FREE symposium. The costs to attend are airfare and a couple hundred dollars for the hotel. I would love to get your family the information if you are interested.

My mom had a brain tumor removed about 13 years ago. After healing from the surgery, she was back to her normal self without subsequent problems. I hope Brandon’s result is the same!
